This will be my last post on this blog. I have been keeping up 2 blogs for a couple months now and I think its finally time to move over to my permanent home at www.augustteaphotography.com/blog. I think its appropriate that I do this the first of August :)

Please please change your links and favorites!! I hope to soon have a website up at my domain address but for now the blog will do.

Well I had the chance to do another short session with Ms A and her family, we went outside this time. Even though it was hot and muggy Ms A was a great model, I can't believe she is 8 weeks old!

This evening I was able to see little Ms B again! She actually lives in Tennessee and when she comes to visit family her mama makes sure to get on my calendar. I just love seeing the little babies grow!! She is almost 9 months old now and so smiley. I had fun capturing those little smiles, you can almost hear the baby giggles by looking at the pictures.

I also got to take a couple portraits of her beautiful cousins!!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has let me capture special moments for them while building my portfolio! Things are changing, and I am getting pretty busy!

My curent portfolio prices are valid through the end of July. I will take limited free session bookings through August (if you book in July). But beginning in August I am going to start offering exciting new packages including digital and traditional affordable options! I guess its only appropriate to have such an exciting change start in August.

Also I have built a great new blog using my very own domain name. I have been slowly transitioning over there so please bookmark this new blog! here

I had the great opportunity of second shooting with Sarah from Pazy's Portraits at Rachel and Sean's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding in the backyard of her mom's house, and oh boy what a backyard it was!! Rolling green landscapes, with a river at the far end and beautiful flowers throughout. Wow I am sooo excited! I've discovered (with the help of another photographer friend) these awesome mounts for storyboards. So what are storyboards?? well they are basically different groupings of pictures from your session that tells a story, or even just one photo with some of your favorite words or the name of your precious child. The great thing about these storyboards are they about half the price of a canvas. For a limited time I'm offering these starting at $50 for an 11x14. Inquire about different sizes!

For our wedding anniversary we all went out to dinner down town Mt. Clemens. My hubby doesn't normally like to be the subject in my pictures but today he allowed it. I was so happy!! Here are a couple that I took, its so nice to be outside taking pictures rather than cooped up in the house.

I love to help out U.S. family owned businesses, in this economy we gotta help our own. Problem is, I don't have a little girl :) so I am searching for models to help me. It will also help me because I'm working on my photography skills :)

I'm so excited because Sweet Princess Bowtique is sending me some of their adorable headbands, bows, hats, and other accessories to use as props in photoshoots all I have to do is send them a couple pictures with cute little girls using them. We all win, they get some pictures of girls modelling their products, and I get some sweet accessories for future photoshoots, and what do you get?? Well I'll tell you...

- 1-2 hours at the location of your choice*
- Custom editing of all images shown in your gallery
- Up to 6 people, an additional $10 will be charged for each additional person that is not in your immediate family

Thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Rachel - I am a mother, a wife, a friend, and among many other things a photographer. I enjoy taking pictures - freezing time - saving the moment. You might wonder where does "August Tea" come from, well I'll tell you. It came from a conversation with my husband over dinner. We sometimes talk about the weirdest things, this night we were talking about my blog and how I wanted a different "name."

When I first got married everyone - and I mean everyone - spelled my new last name wrong, they all spelled it Augusti, its suppose to be Agusti. After many times correcting people, I told my husband how I was just going to change my name (again) and spell it Augusti so I wouldn't have to correct anyone anymore, well being Italian, my husband didn't find that to funny. I guess that's where August Tea comes from - August cause that's why everyone spelled our name wrong, and Tea to add on the 'ti' part. I know fun story right?

Well, you came to my blog for a reason, maybe someone directed you to it cause I took their picture, maybe you just found me cause you live in Michigan and you're looking for a rockin photographer. Welcome to my photography blog. I have recently decided to expand my love for photography into helping others capture their special moments. My love for photography started when my son was born. I found that I wanted to document everything about this new little life that just changed my world. My little newborn baby started growing up so quickly, I decided to buy my first big-girl fancy camera. I began reading, learning and practicing to get better and better pictures - all of a sudden this new hobby of mine turned into a passion of mine.

I am still in the skill building stage of my photography path, so if you are in the Metro-Detroit area (Michigan) and want some photographs taken please drop me a line. I hope you enjoy my pictures as much as I enjoy taking them!
